…and decided to buy my first ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) after reading about the release of a new ETF called the PowerShares Value Line Timeliness Select Portfolio (PIV) in this article by Mark Hulbert (a Marketwatch.com columnist).

This sudden leap from individual stocks to an ETF was driven by the fact that I have always had great respect for the Value Line Timeliness Ranking System and found this ETF to be a perfect opportunity to follow the Value Line Ranking System with the lowest time and cost overheads. Check out their investment prospectus if you find this ETF interesting.

The Fool hat may be trademarked :) Also I saw, as you said a few weeks ago that gold is on a tear. But that may show signs of weakness in the economy. Especially if it is Central banks (the ultimate insider) favoring gold for reserves over currency…BTW you should look at a better RTF Editor like: http://sourceforge.net/projects/fckeditor/A

If it is, Cirque du Soleil might be in big trouble. While I expected gold to go up, I was surprised by how quickly it went up. A fall in new home sales, increasing inflation (and low bond yields) combined with an almost flat stock market could be the forces behind this rise.
